This NZ native honeysuckle has a distinctive slender tapering shape. The leathery, deep green narrow leaves have coarsely serrated edges. Unusual rusty-red flowers in bottlebrush-like racemes are produced in summer, and birds are attracted to the nectar.
Great for attracting native birds. Plant in a moist but well drained soil, feed once a year with Texture Plants 12 month planting food. Little pruning should be required other than minor shaping or limbing up to allow for under planting.
