A prostrate, evergreen shrub grown for year-round interest, with dark green, leathery leaves and pale pink, lily of the valley like flowers in spring, followed by showy red berries through autumn. Its dense, ground-hugging habit makes it well suited to rockeries, banks and edging or tumbling over low walls.

Suits a well-drained position in sun or light shade, even in poor soils, and is drought hardy once established.
