A low growing spreading perennial valued for its fine needle-like foliage that emerges in shades of purple and matures to soft green. The feathery leaves form a dense textured carpet that contrasts beautifully with silver and green plants. In spring it produces bright chartreuse flower heads that stand out against the dark new growth.

Ideal for cottage, Mediterranean and gravel style gardens and also useful on sunny banks or at the front of borders. Suits full sun with free draining soil and is drought tolerant once established. Spreads by creeping roots so give it room or plant where its spread is welcome. Winter dormant.
