A hardy NZ native, evergreen shrub with a neat, bushy habit and glossy dark green foliage. Masses of mauve to lilac flower spikes are produced from late spring through summer, attracting bees and other beneficial pollinators.

Its compact growth makes it an excellent choice for borders, low hedging, containers and coastal gardens. Easy to grow and low maintenance, it thrives in full sun to partial shade with well-drained soil. Tolerant of wind and coastal conditions once established.
