Lachenalia flava is a seldom available South African bulb valued for its refined form and vivid display of clear deep yellow flowers held on contrasting bronze stems. Flowers in late winter to early spring, bringing bright colour at a time when little else is in bloom.

 Fleshy strap-like foliage emerges with or just before flowering, adding to its ornamental appeal. Ideal for containers, alpine houses or sheltered garden positions where drainage is excellent. Best grown in a warm, sunny spot with dry conditions over summer dormancy. Protect from frost.
