Low Maintenance

Lachenalia pustulata is a charming and unusual bulbous perennial from South Africa, named for the textured, bump-like surface on its attractive green leaves.

In winter it produces upright flower spikes bearing delicate white to lilac tubular blooms, adding soft colour to the garden when little else is in flower. Compact and low-growing, it is ideal for containers, alpine troughs or a sheltered, well-drained spot in the garden where its subtle beauty and unique foliage can be fully appreciated.

Prefers full sun and requires frost protection. Summer dormant it is easy to grow and an excellent addition for winter-interest or a bulb collection.
