Libocedrus bidwillii also known as Pāhautea or New Zealand Cedar, is a slow-growing native conifer with dense, dark green, scale-like foliage and a graceful, columnar habit. Naturally occurring in mountainous and subalpine forests, it is well suited to large gardens and parks. 

Prefers full sun to part shade and well drained, acidic soil. Evergreen and hardy, it provides year-round structure, texture and a striking architectural presence.
