Salt Tolerant / Coastal Suitable

An iconic and striking New Zealand native, Myosotidium hortensia is treasured for its lush, deeply ribbed, dark green foliage and vibrant clusters of deep blue, forget-me-not-like flowers that appear in early spring. Endemic to the Chatham Islands, this rare and ornamental plant brings bold texture and rich colour to shaded garden spaces.

Thrives in a cool, sheltered position with moist, well-drained soil enriched with organic matter. It benefits from regular applications of seaweed-based fertiliser or coastal mulch. While hardy in mild conditions, protection from heavy frost is recommended. Ideal for shaded borders, woodland gardens or coastal plantings.
