Pseudowintera colorata or Pepper Tree is a selected form of the New Zealand native horopito valued for its richly coloured foliage, often marked with red and purple tones. It provides strong year round colour and texture in the garden and is well suited to native, woodland or mixed plantings.

Pseudowintera colorata is a tough and adaptable evergreen. It grows happily in sun or shade, prefers free draining soil and is hardy once established.
