Moderate Maintenance
Salt Tolerant / Coastal Suitable

Tecomanthe speciosa is a rare and spectacular NZ native climber, endemic to the Three Kings Islands. This woody evergreen vine has a vigorous twining habit and bears large, glossy deep green leaves, providing lush coverage on trellises, pergolas or fences.

Its most striking feature is the display of creamy white tubular flowers, which appear in clusters along the main stems in autumn, a dramatic and unexpected floral show. Though tropical in appearance, this vine is surprisingly tolerant of coastal conditions, making it suitable for a variety of sheltered garden sites.

Best grown in semi-shade to full sun, it requires protection from frost and benefits from a warm, well-drained location. A true collector's plant, Tecomanthe speciosa brings both botanical significance and beauty to New Zealand gardens.
