Blechnum procerum or Small Kiokio, is a tough NZ native ground fern, particularly well-suited for mass planting. Its striking copper-orange foliage during the winter months adds a splash of vibrant colour to the garden. Small Kiokio is tolerant of a range of light conditions, thriving in both full sun and semi-shade, as long as the soil remains well-mulched and moist.

A hardy and evergreen fern, it is perfect for adding texture and year-round interest to garden beds, especially in native plantings or shaded areas. It’s also an excellent choice for creating ground cover in difficult-to-plant spots.
