Olearia moschata, commonly known as Musky Tree Daisy or Incense Plant, is a hardy South Island native shrub valued for its resilience and distinctive fragrance.

Its small, leathery leaves are oval to obovate and often silver-backed with fine white tomentum, giving the plant a pale grey appearance that contrasts beautifully with surrounding vegetation. A faint musky scent is noticeable on warm days and becomes stronger when foliage is crushed.

In summer, clusters of small white daisy-like flowers with yellow centres appear in abundance, often covering much of the foliage and supporting pollinators. Naturally occurring in tussock lands, scrub and subalpine regions, it is well suited to restoration planting, lifestyle blocks and coastal or exposed gardens.

Thrives in full sun and well drained soil. Evergreen and hardy, providing year-round texture, shelter and movement in the landscape.
